David O'Keefe was elected to the Leon County Commission for District 5 in 2022 and serves as the 2025-2026 Vice Chairman. He grew up in Jacksonville and moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting & Finance in 2007. He later obtained a Master of Accountancy from Auburn University in 2009. He has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Florida since 2010 and spent 15 years overseeing the finances of public nonprofits and government organizations, including serving as CFO of WFSU Public Media. He and his wife, Brooke, live in the Old Town Neighborhood.
