David Tse-Chien Pan is an American literary scholar and Professor of German at the University of California, Irvine. He specializes in political and cultural theory, as well as German literature and intellectual history. Pan previously served on the U.S. State Department's Commission on Unalienable Rights. A Republican, he is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in California's 46th Congressional District in 2026, after previously running for the same seat in 2024.
