Deb Krishnadasan is a lifelong Washingtonian who was appointed to the State Senate in December 2024. She grew up in a union household on a farm in Puyallup and was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning a bachelor's degree from Western Washington University. Her career includes roles in communications and human resources for nonprofits like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and corporations like Microsoft. After moving to Gig Harbor, she became a full-time public school volunteer and was elected to the Peninsula School Board, where she served as president. She founded the advocacy group Stand Up for Peninsula Schools and led five successful levy and bond campaigns. Her public service has earned her awards such as the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce's 2023 Citizen of the Year.
