Deborah Ross, born Deborah Koff on June 20, 1963, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American lawyer and politician. She grew up in Connecticut and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in 1985, followed by a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1990. Before her congressional career, Ross served as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives from 2003 to 2013. She also worked as the state director for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of North Carolina and as legal counsel for GoTriangle. She was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020 and assumed office on January 3, 2021.
