Delmas Highsmith is an incumbent Town Commissioner for Beulaville, North Carolina. He has a long career in law enforcement with the Duplin County Sheriff's Office, where he has served as a detention officer, school resource officer, and court bailiff. He was promoted to sergeant in March 2006, overseeing court operations, and later to lieutenant in July 2007, supervising court sessions, transportation, and security. He is also a member of the Duplin County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard.
