Derrick L. Coley

Derrick L. Coley, a Democratic politician, represents District 24 in the Maryland House of Delegates. Governor Wes Moore appointed him in January 2024 to the seat vacated by Jazz Lewis. Coley's extensive public service career includes roles as chief of staff to the Prince George's County Executive and deputy director for the county's Department of the Environment. He also served as a staff associate for the U.S. Conference of Mayors, a special assistant at Bowie State University, and executive director for the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Coley holds a B.S. in biological sciences from North Carolina State University and an M.A. in public policy from American University.
