Derrick Quarles, a Democratic candidate for the South Carolina House of Representatives District 25 in 2026, is a public policy leader and social justice advocate with a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration. He has organized movements such as Black Lives Matter and Dream Defenders. As a father, he is driven to create an equitable society. His platform focuses on criminal justice reform, community-based violence prevention, infrastructure improvements including pedestrian safety and fair funding, economic policies like property tax relief and affordable housing, and expanding healthcare access in underserved communities. He previously ran for this seat in 2022.
