Diane Papan is a Democratic politician serving as a member of the California State Assembly for District 21, representing parts of San Mateo County. First elected to the Assembly in 2022, she has served as Chair of the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks, and Wildlife. Prior to her time in the state legislature, Papan served as mayor and city councilmember for the City of San Mateo from 2015 to 2022. She earned a B.A. in political science from UCLA and a J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law.
