Didem Pierson has been a resident of Maple Valley for over 25 years after immigrating to the United States from Turkey. She was appointed to the City Council in March 2022 and elected in 2023. Prior to her council role, she served on the Tahoma School Board for 16 years, from 2003 to 2019. She has raised three children in Maple Valley and also works as a Territory Manager for rSchoolToday.
