Donald Kennedy graduated from Auburn High School and earned a bachelor's and master's degree in geology from Eastern Washington University, followed by a law degree from Gonzaga University in 1991. He has worked for the Farm Credit System and as a vice president for mineral operations. He was appointed to an open seat on the Medical Lake City Council in 2019 after unsuccessful runs in 2015 and 2017. His legal practice includes real estate and estate planning.
