Donald Landsman was a longtime resident of Richland, having lived in the city since 1977. He was active in local politics, serving as a precinct committee officer for the Benton County Republican Party and previously running for Richland City Council in 2015 and for the Benton County Commission in 2020. He was also involved with ABATE of Washington, a nonprofit advocating for motorcyclists. Donald Landsman passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2025, at the age of 62.
