Donavan McKinney is a Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 11 since 2025, having previously represented District 14. Born and raised in Detroit, he earned a bachelor's degree in public policy from the University of Michigan. Before entering the state legislature, McKinney served as political director for SEIU Healthcare Michigan, worked in community engagement for CDAD, and was appointed to the Michigan Environmental Justice Council in 2020.
