Is this you? Claim this profileDonna Beth Tanner is an incumbent District Court Judge for District 29, serving since January 2023. She was born in Kinston, North Carolina. Tanner earned a B.A. with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005 and a J.D. from Campbell University School of Law in 2008. In 2022, she received a Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Legal Studies from Nottingham Trent University School of Law in a joint program with Campbell. Her career began in private practice at Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog, LLP, handling civil litigation and family law. In 2014, she transitioned to public service, working as an Assistant Attorney General with the NC Department of Justice and later as Assistant General Counsel for the NC Department of Public Safety. From 2017 to 2022, she was the Associate Director for the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission. She lives in Carthage with her husband and two daughters.
