Donna Forga is the Chief District Court Judge for North Carolina's Judicial District 43. She was first elected to the bench in 2010. Prior to her election, Judge Forga worked as a staff attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina and was also in private practice, where she specialized in criminal and domestic cases. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 1995 and her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2000. Her decision to become an attorney was influenced by her personal experience representing herself in a divorce case.
