Douglas Benjamin

Douglas Benjamin was first appointed to the Bellingham School Board in August 2014 and was subsequently elected in 2015, 2017, and 2021. He has worked as a licensed mental health counselor and healthcare administrator in Bellingham for over 40 years. His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in psychology and political science from Seattle Pacific University, a master's degree in clinical and counseling psychology from Western Washington University, and a doctorate from Northwestern University. Benjamin has also served as the chair of the Whatcom County Public Health Advisory Board and is on the Board of the Washington State School Directors Association.
