Ed Setzler is an incumbent Georgia State Senator for District 37, representing portions of Cobb and Bartow Counties. A veteran, husband, and father of four, he formerly served in the Georgia House of Representatives. Setzler is a graduate of Furman University and the US Army Ranger School, having served nine years as an Army officer with assignments in Europe, North Africa, and the Persian Gulf. He currently serves on the Senate Judiciary, Health, Education, and Science & Technology committees. Outside of public service, he is the Managing Principal at St John Consulting Group. Setzler advocates for issues including education, traffic relief, election integrity, and tax reform. He is recognized for his leadership in protecting human rights, such as due process, free speech, and the sanctity of human life. An Eagle Scout, he is active in his church and youth ministry.
