Edgar Soto is a Marine Corps veteran, lifelong educator, and community leader running for the Arizona State Senate in Legislative District 17. A native Arizonan, his family has deep roots in Pima County. With over 30 years in education, including as a middle school teacher and Campus Vice President at Pima Community College, he also coached baseball and co-founded the Southern Arizona Sports, Tourism, & Film Authority. Soto is a first-time candidate focused on strengthening public education, defending reproductive freedom, lowering costs, and advancing pragmatic economic and water policies for Arizona families. He aims to flip this competitive seat and help Democrats gain a state Senate majority.
