Edward Burroughs, III, a Democrat, represents District 8 on the Prince George's County Council in Maryland and currently serves as the Council Chair. A lifelong resident of the county, he is a graduate of Crossland High School and earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. His political career began on the Prince George's County Board of Education, where he was first elected as a student member in 2008 and later became the youngest elected official in Maryland in 2010, serving until 2021. Before joining the County Council in February 2022, he worked in the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office.
