Eric J. Weaknecht is an incumbent Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 5 since late 2024. Prior to his election to the state legislature, Weaknecht had a decades-long career in law enforcement. He began as a deputy sheriff in 1984 and later served as the Sheriff of Berks County from 2008 until 2024. During his tenure, he served on the Pennsylvania Deputy Sheriffs' Education and Training Board and was active in the PA Sheriffs' Association.
