Eric Smothers

Eric Smothers serves as the Assistant Chief of the Brunswick Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Company. A respected figure in emergency services, he is also a past President of the Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. In June 2023, Smothers was elected President of the Maryland State Firemen's Association, a body representing over 360 volunteer fire and rescue companies across the state. His leadership in these roles underscores a long-standing commitment to public safety and volunteer service within Frederick County and the state of Maryland. He is also a member of the Legislative Committee for the Maryland State Firefighters Association.
