Eric Swalwell is a former U.S. Representative from California, serving from 2013 until his resignation in April 2026. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served on the Dublin City Council and as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County. Swalwell launched a campaign for Governor of California in the 2026 election. In April 2026, he suspended his gubernatorial campaign and resigned from Congress following allegations of sexual misconduct, though his name remains on the primary ballot.
