Eric Zimmerman is a fifth-generation King County resident. He earned a Bachelor's degree from Seattle Pacific University and a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. Since 2003, his professional career has been in the global humanitarian industry, where he has worked on community development projects in over 40 countries, specializing in climate and the environment. Prior to his election to the council, Zimmerman served on the Normandy Park Planning Commission and was the city's representative to the SeaTac Airport Stakeholder Advisory Roundtable (StART).
