Esmeralda Hurtado is a public health professional and member of the Sanger City Council, a position she was first appointed to in 2019 and elected to in 2020 and 2024. Born and raised in Sanger, California, she earned a degree in public health and has worked on community responses to drought emergencies. On the city council, she supported expanding the local fire station and modernizing the wastewater treatment plant. Hurtado is running for the California State Senate to represent District 14.
