Esther K. Ro was appointed as a Judge to the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Governor Gavin Newsom in October 2024. Prior to her appointment, she served as a Senior Appellate Attorney at the Second District Court of Appeal starting in 2019. Her legal career also includes being a Partner and an Associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP from 2011 to 2019, where she represented clients in complex business, corporate, and class action disputes. Earlier in her career, Ro was an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Recovery Fellow at the Asian Pacific American Legal Center and an Associate at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law.
