Fabián Basabe is a family man, entrepreneur, environmental advocate and supporter of the arts. Born in New York City to an American mother and Ecuadorian father, he moved to Quito, Ecuador at age six and to Miami Beach in 1987; he graduated from Cheshire Academy and earned a degree in International Relations at Pepperdine University, later working as a TV correspondent (E!, TLC). In 2007 he and his wife Martina Borgomanero made Miami Beach their permanent home, raising their son Brando. Elected to the Florida House for District 106 in 2022 and reelected in 2024, his legislative priorities center on educators, law enforcement, first responders, the vulnerable, and environmental preservation.
