Fatima Iqbal-Zubair is an educator, community advocate, and immigrant who was born in Dubai, UAE. She earned an undergraduate degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey and a graduate degree from California State University Dominguez Hills. Her career experience includes working as a public school science teacher in Watts, where she founded an award-winning robotics team and served as the Science Department Director. She is currently the Legislative Affairs Manager for a climate justice nonprofit. Iqbal-Zubair is also the Chair Emeritus of the California Democratic Party's Progressive Caucus and serves on the party's Executive Board. She has previously run for the State Assembly in 2020 and 2022.
