Francis Awerkamp, born September 20, 1980, in St. Marys, Kansas, has served as a Republican State Representative for Kansas' 61st district since January 9, 2017. His legislative efforts include proposing a constitutional amendment to recognize the right to bear arms as fundamental, advocating for tax exemptions for minor-owned businesses, and denouncing a planned satanic worship ritual. He also proposed an amendment to the state constitution to provide no right to an abortion. Awerkamp has supported legislation regarding self-service storage acts, changes to the KPERS fund's investment limits, increasing tax credits for disability employment, and adjustments to income tax rates for individuals.
