Gail Davenport

Gail Davenport is an incumbent State Senator for Georgia, first elected in 2006. A native of Atlanta and a graduate of Spelman College, she currently represents District 17, which includes portions of Clayton and Henry County. She previously represented District 44. Senator Davenport serves on committees including Appropriations, State Institutions and Property, Natural Resources and the Environment, Retirement, and the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Overview Committee. A dedicated Democrat, she advocates for job creation, preventing home mortgage foreclosures, supporting first-class education, safer streets, and economic opportunity. She seeks re-election to continue her service to the people of her district.
