Gary Weaver was appointed to the Pitt County Board of Commissioners for District 6 on September 15, 2025, to fill a vacant seat. His term is set to expire in December 2026. Weaver is a retired law enforcement professional, having served with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for 30 years. He has also been involved in various community organizations, including Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers and the Simpson Rural Fire Department. Previously, Weaver was the chair for the Pitt County GOP and ran for Pitt County Sheriff in 2022.
