Gay Gillespie Valimont is a mother and gun violence prevention advocate in Pensacola, Florida. She earned a bachelor's degree in Health and Exercise Science from Georgia Southern University and an M.A. in Education from Troy State University, then worked in sports medicine as an athletic trainer in Atlanta. After the Sandy Hook shooting she became a grassroots organizer with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, rising to serve as the organization's Florida State Lead. After losing her husband Brian to ALS and their 8-year-old son Eli to DIPG, she returned to Pensacola. She was the Democratic nominee for Florida's 1st Congressional District in the April 2025 special election and advanced unopposed from the 2026 Democratic primary.
