George Hurst has lived in Lynnwood for over 32 years with his wife, Pam. Their four children graduated from Lynnwood High School. He holds a BA in history/political science from the University of Washington and an MA in American History from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Hurst worked in the electrical and commercial lighting business for over 30 years. He was first elected to the City Council in 2015 and has been re-elected twice. His colleagues have elected him Council President multiple times.
