Ginger Efird

Ginger D. F. Efird is a lifelong resident of Stanly County and the incumbent Clerk of Superior Court. She graduated from Pfeiffer University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Her career with the North Carolina Judicial Branch began shortly after graduation, serving in various roles within the district attorney's offices for several counties, including Mecklenburg and Stanly. She started as a domestic violence victim/witness legal assistant and later became a child sex assault victim/witness legal assistant. For over 16 years, she was the administrative assistant for Prosecutorial District 20A. In November 2022, Efird was elected as Stanly County's first female Clerk of Superior Court, defeating her opponent with 79% of the vote. She was sworn into office on December 8, 2022. Governor Roy Cooper also appointed her to the Governor's Crime Commission.
