Gladys Robinson has been a member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 28, since January 2011. She serves as a Deputy Minority Leader. Prior to her political career, Robinson worked as a health services executive, serving as the executive director of the Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency starting in 1982. She earned her bachelor's degree from Bennett College and both a Master of Education and a Ph.D. in leadership studies from North Carolina A&T State University. Her civic involvement includes serving on the Bennett College Board of Trustees and membership in the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
