Gloristine Brown lives in Bethel, North Carolina. She earned a B.S. in computer information systems and a Master of Public Administration from Strayer University. Her career has included work in the nursing and insurance industries. Brown served on the Bethel Town Board starting in 1999 and was elected as the first Black mayor of Bethel in 2014. She has also served as a trustee for Pitt Community College and on the executive board of the North Carolina Association of Community College Trustees. She was first elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives for District 8 in 2022 and assumed office on January 1, 2023.
