Professionally, he is a Capital Project Manager specializing in Flight Test Operations Engineering and Systems Engineering. Based in Tullahoma, Tennessee, he attended the University of Cincinnati from 1984 to 1989. Sandlin has been recognized for his outstanding performance and leadership, receiving awards such as the Black Engineer of the Year Science Spectrum Trailblazer and the Women of Color Technology Rising Star. He is also an advocate and mentor for diverse and emerging talent in STEM fields, with expertise in advanced aircrafts, process improvement, testing, and sustainment.
