Gregory Meekins, a native of Cambridge, Maryland, is a dedicated community leader and retired educator. A valedictorian of his 1967 high school class, he worked in the Dorchester County Public Schools for 27 years, serving as a principal and administrator. His public service includes roles on the Cambridge Ethics Commission and the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. As a former president of the Dorchester County NAACP, he was instrumental in changing voting rights laws, which led to the election of the first Black county commissioner in Dorchester County. Meekins is a candidate for the Democratic Central Committee in Councilmanic District 1.
