Habekah Cannon is a candidate for NC District Court Judge District 26 Seat 18 in Charlotte, North Carolina — 2026 Primary Election.

Habekah Cannon is the managing attorney of her own law firm, which focuses on criminal defense. A native of Goldsboro, North Carolina, she spent her formative years as a missionary in South Africa. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Hampton University and a Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Previously, she worked with the ACLU, co-authoring a 2019 report on court fines and fees in North Carolina, and served as an Assistant Public Defender in Mecklenburg County, where she represented over 800 clients. She is also the Secretary of the National Conference of Black Lawyers, NC Chapter.
