Hamdi Mohamed is a candidate for Port of Seattle Commissioner in Seattle, Washington — 2025 General Election. Running as Nonpartisan.

Hamdi Mohamed was elected to the Port of Seattle Commission in November 2021, becoming the first Somali woman elected to public office in Washington State and the first Black woman on the commission. In 2024, she served as the first Black Commission President in the Port's history. Mohamed also serves as the Director of the City of Seattle's Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs. Her previous roles include policy advisor to King County Executive Dow Constantine and Deputy District Director for U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal. She has also worked for CARE International and the Refugee Women Alliance. Mohamed earned a Master's degree in Policy Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Law, Societies, and Justice from the University of Washington, as well as a Global Business Certificate from Harvard Business School. She immigrated to the U.S. from Somalia as a child and lives in South King County.
