Heather J. Wasser

Heather J. Wasser is the Democratic Mayor of Haworth, New Jersey, a role she has held since January 2023, having previously served on the Borough Council. Her current term as mayor concludes at the end of 2026. As the chief executive of Haworth, she presides over council meetings and plays a central role in borough administration, including authorizing shared services agreements with Bergen County and approving municipal expenditures. Wasser's responsibilities extend to making appointments to various boards and commissions within the borough. She serves by virtue of her office on the Planning Board and Library Board, and acts as the liaison for Affordable Housing and the Office of Emergency Management.
