Helen Yang was appointed to serve as a Judge in the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Governor Gavin Newsom in February 2025 and was sworn in on May 17, 2025. Prior to her appointment, she was a Partner at Squire Patton Boggs, having been promoted to that role in 2016. Her legal practice focused on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts, covering areas such as environmental toxic torts, business contractual disputes, product liability, real estate, and intellectual property matters. She also served as a Deputy in the Riverside County Counsel's Office from 2008 to 2009. Yang earned her Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School.
