Ismail "Izzy" Smith-Wade-El is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives representing District 49, assuming office in December 2022. Born and raised in Lancaster, he earned a bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to his election to the state legislature, he served on the Lancaster City Council from 2017 to 2022, including a tenure as council president. He has previously worked in behavioral health and at the Lancaster County Homeless Coalition.
