J.t. "jabo" Waggoner

J. T. "Jabo" Waggoner is an incumbent Republican State Senator for Alabama's District 16, representing parts of Jefferson and Shelby counties. Born in Birmingham in 1937, he holds a BA and JD. With a legislative career spanning decades, including service in the House and currently in his eighth Senate term, he holds the longest record of service in Alabama history. Waggoner, a member of the Homewood Church of Christ, has held leadership roles as Senate Minority and Majority Leader.
