Jacob Yim was appointed to serve as a Judge in the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Governor Gavin Newsom in February 2025. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Deputy-in-Charge of the Real Estate Fraud Section in the White Collar Crime Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, a role he held since 2022. His career in the District Attorney's Office began in 2000, and he served in various roles until 2022, with a brief period between 2008 and 2009 when he was a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Domestic Security and Immigration Crimes Section. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law.
