James Alberson has been a resident of Renton since 1997. He is currently serving his first term on the City Council, having been elected in 2021, and was elected by his peers to serve as City Council President for 2025. His public service for Renton includes time as a Planning Commissioner and as Board Chair for the Renton Chamber of Commerce. For over 15 years, he has been the president of his neighborhood's homeowners' association. Alberson owns and operates a Sandler Training Franchise, working as a business consultant. He holds both an M.B.A. and a B.S. degree from Purdue University. He and his wife, Jessica, live in the Renton Highlands with their three daughters.
