James C. Ramos is the Assemblymember for California's 45th State Assembly District, having first been elected in 2018. A Democrat, he is the first Native American to serve in the California State Legislature. Ramos is a member of the Serrano/Cahuilla tribe and formerly served as chairman of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. Prior to his election to the Assembly, Ramos served on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and the San Bernardino Community College Board of Trustees.
