James Jay Hart

James J. Hart has been a resident of Kitsap County for most of his life and is a graduate of South Kitsap High School. He worked for thirty years at the Washington State Veteran's Home in Retsil. Hart has extensive experience as a commissioner for both water and wastewater, having first been elected in 1975. He also attended Washington State University to become a Master Gardener and took courses at Bates Vocational Institute on Water Quality and Wastewater Treatment. In 2006, he was selected as the "Commissioner of the Year" by the Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts.
