James Uthmeier is the 39th Attorney General of Florida, assuming office in February 2025 after being appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis. He previously served as Chief of Staff and General Counsel to Governor DeSantis and managed his 2024 presidential campaign. Uthmeier also served as a senior advisor and counsel in the U.S. Department of Commerce during the Trump administration. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and Georgetown University Law Center.
