Jamie Adams is the District Attorney for Prosecutorial District 21, which includes Anson, Richmond, and Scotland counties. She was appointed to the position by Governor Roy Cooper in September 2024 to fill a vacancy left by a retirement. Prior to her appointment, she served as the Chief Assistant District Attorney for the same district. Her career as a prosecutor began in 2008 in Mecklenburg County, and she later served as an assistant district attorney in Catawba, Burke, and Caldwell counties. Adams earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
