Jane Aras was elected to the School Board in 2021. Born in South Korea, she was adopted and immigrated to the United States as a child. Her career has been in education; she holds a bachelor's degree in special education from Gonzaga University and a master's degree in special education from the University of Washington. Aras has experience as both a general and special education teacher and has volunteered extensively in the district, including on the PTSA and the district's Parent Advisory Committee. She is a parent of three adult children who were raised in the Bellevue community.
