Jane Harrison was elected to the Raleigh City Council representing District D in 2022. She works as a coastal economics specialist for North Carolina Sea Grant, a program based at North Carolina State University, where she is also on the faculty in the College of Natural Resources and the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Her work focuses on natural resource management and community development. Harrison holds a Ph.D. in natural resource management from Oregon State University, a Master of Science in environmental economics, and a Bachelor of Arts in international studies, both from The Ohio State University. She has lived in Raleigh for over 10 years.
